mindmapAre you in overwhelm about what is happening to YOUR world when it comes to Technology? We use to think that using a remote control was a challenge. REALLY.   Now we find ourselves not only bombarded with e-mail from all different directions, but we have five different ways to check the e-mail and alerts going off like alarm clocks all hours of the day and night.  Morning arrives and it starts all over again. Even if you were to be on your computer during all waking hours of the day and night you still couldn’t be on every social media site that the media is “touting,” and, quite frankly, who would want to?

It’s time to really look out for #1 and decide how you want to DESIGN your life and go for it. (There may not be a “DO OVER”)   Of course you may want to tweak it from time to time or even change directions, but the fact is that this YOUR life and it’s up to you to create your life BY DESIGN.

Here are some tips to get started today!

1) Find time to have a couple of hours to yourself.  YES…you can do it.  Choose a place other than your home or office. Get out of your own environment. Tapping into your own creativity often times is best found in a completely different setting than the day-to-day.  (BE SURE YOU DO NOT TAKE YOUR DEVICES WITH YOU: NO PHONES, IPADS, IPODS, LAPTOPS, ETC). This is time to connect to your own authentic self and your creativity!

2) Think FORWARD. What is it that you really want in your life? Freedom, peace, great relationships, travel, more time. Dig down deep and look at the “IF I COULD HAVE IT ALL” scenario with the ALL being what you really see as critical for you. Write it down. Detail it. Sit with it and see what FEELS right for you.

3) NO TECH DAYS.  Allow yourself to detach, disconnect, and disallow any technical devices for one day a week!  Yes…you can survive and even THRIVE on getting away from the technology overload and find something else to do for a day.  Take a nature day or day with the family without answering your phone.  The calls will be waiting for you tomorrow and guess what?  You will find that you are clearer about what you want your life to look like with fresh new ideas and the energy to go along with them.
